Beginner Guitar Lessons on DVD

Are beginner guitar lessons on DVD a good idea when first starting out? In short, yes, they can be. Learning the basics of guitar playing is not difficult if you assert yourself and practice on a regular basis. A beginner video lesson will take you through the learning process in a very calm, methodical manor and show you lots of close ups and slow motion shots.

You will not be under the pressure of a time limit like you would with a live guitar teacher. If you need to review something you can do so over and over again without feeling embarrassed or intimidated. You learn at your own pace and from the comfort of your own home. The entire cost of an average DVD for beginner guitar instruction will be about the same as only one or two guitar lessons from your local guitar instructor. That could really add up to a lot of money saved when you consider the average 1/2 hour guitar lesson in your local town will likely cost you $10.00 - $15.00 or even more per session!

You will not have to worry about setting up appointments or driving in bad weather. Many music teachers charge you for a months worth of lessons in advance with no refunds for a missed lesson. So what happens when you have a really bad day or are just tired? You either forfeit the lesson (money) or you drag yourself in because you feel obligated to yourself for already paying. But do you actually get much out of that lesson when you are so tired and stressed? Probably not. With a guitar video lesson from home you don't have to worry about those rough days when you are tired or ill. Just relax for one night and make up for it later or the next day.

Do I think the in home DVD lessons are a better choice than an experienced guitar teacher? No. A good guitar teacher is necessary if you want to really grow beyond the basics and become a great guitarist. But the basics can easily be learned from a good video guitar lesson. After 6-8 months you should know if you want to take it to the next level. At that point you will want to seek out a good teacher.

You will have saved much time and money by starting on the beginner home course. You will have finger strength and enough basic knowledge that when you start paying for each lesson with a guitar instructor you will be in a much better position to move forward. You won't be wasting months (and money) with your teacher just learning the basic beginner guitar fingerings and chords but rather you will learn exciting new skills on the guitar that you can apply very quickly. Before you know it you'll be playing better than you ever thought possible!

I'm glad you are thinking of learning to play guitar. It is the most popular instrument in the world and playing is great fun! I know because I've been having a ball with it for 30 years! Hello, my name is Ray Sherman. I love to see new people take up guitar playing. Whether you choose a beginner guitar DVD or seek out an instructor in your home town, just do it and get started. Today is the right time to begin learning guitar! http://www.GuitarGoGo.com
