I was talking to a friend and colleague not long ago and he was telling me that his brother was in hospital and had been advised by the doctors there that quite possibly he had only 12 months or so left.
Clearly my friend was upset and saddened by this as he stared vacantly at his cigarette he was smoking at the time. He told me that his brother's condition had been brought on by a smoking related disease. It was a bizarre scene and brought home to me just how addictive this stuff can be.
Right there, from what this man had said, should have served as one of the most powerful quit smoking aids, known to man. His own brother was dying as a result of smoking cigarettes and he sat there lamenting his brother's fate while smoking a cigarette.
The tobacco industry as a whole, on a National or International basis is vast and then some. It is a multi-billion concern and the stakes are high to compete for a market that is in certain sectors showing signs of slowing. The products themselves ever becoming more controversial as we, the consumer, become more aware.
The problem though, as a consumer society we just want to 'wish' the problem away instead of taking positive action. I for one reserve the right to 'talk tough' because I quit after a good few years of being a slave to the addiction. I have been there and appreciate the difficulties involved.
As I have mentioned occasionally, there is the usual quit smoking aids on the market. Such as: the patches, gums, inhalers, lozenges, acupuncture, laser, capsules, shots (injections), hypnotherapy, electronic cigarettes, herbal mixtures and potions.
The point I make is, you, have to make a decision and take responsibility for yourself and accept your previous mistakes. We have all been there. So, if you take that on board you have already moulded a powerful quit smoking aid and have started your journey to a smoke free life.
Daton Caedea is an ex smoker who actually worked within the tobacco trade for a good many years. Because of this and the fact that he recognised the true dangers involved with the consumption of these products he decided that this was not for him. Naturally, the tobacco industry don't agree with these sentiments because it is a billion dollar commercial enterprise and they state they are providing their customers with a popular service.
